About

Mica Villalobos Estrada, PhD

Dr. Estrada’s family was originally from Mexico and came to the United States in the early part of the 1900’s. Her ancestors were Spanish and Indigenous and her values, worldview and work in the world is deeply impacted by her heritage. She was raised in a low-income, but educated household, and earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MA & PhD in Social Psychology from Harvard University.

Her research, publications, speaking and facilitation contribute towards a collective movement of dignity affirming, kind behavior towards all, including our earth. She fulfills this work through an active research program, writing, speaking and facilitating to advance people’s integration into community and expand kindness and dignity. She brings to her work the experience of administrating over $20 million in funded programs, years of mentorship of scholars, and dedication to growing organizational health.

Personally, Dr. Estrada is mother to three grown children and lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her sweetheart of many years. She enjoys gardening, walking in nature, and sharing meals the people she loves.
